Conjunctions: und, aber, oder, denn, sondern
Conjunctions are the first step to moving from short sentences to longer, natural sentences. 'und' (and), 'aber' (but), 'oder' (or), 'denn' (because/for), and 'sondern' (but rather) connect two main clauses. The good news: these five conjunctions do not change word order at all; after the conjunction, the sentence continues in normal order.
