Question pronouns: wer, wen, wem, wessen, was für ein
English has 'who, whom, whose'. German does the same, more strictly: 'wer' (who) becomes 'wen', 'wem' and 'wessen' depending on its role in the sentence. Once you have learned the cases (Akkusativ, Dativ), you need these forms to ask the right question. There is also the pattern 'was für ein …?' (what kind of …?).
